I have a lot of collection favorites, but this is high on my list. The unusual and somewhat crazy tribal design is so original, and when coupled with the fabulous colors, all I can say is wow. I remember too finding it in a remote town, in the stacks of rugs pulled out from a hidden garage; truly a magical moment!

The Boujad rug comes from the Haouz region of Morocco, an area in the middle Atlas mountains. As with all rugs, the boujad rug represents the weaver, where her story is expressed in vibrant geometric patterns, and varying colors, often pinks, reds, and purples. These rugs are increasingly rare and difficult to find, as their popularity has soared in recent years.
