There was a period in which amazing Moroccan Boujad runners from the 1970s and 80s abounded. I remember a sourcing trip some years ago where there were just hundreds of these runners collected together, and I was amazed at their beauty, and also wondering quietly if this was the last of them. It turns out it was. Most of these rugs were bought up from the villages some years ago, and now it's nearly impossible to find them. So here is one of the last ones that I scooped up. It's a stunner, and sure to shine in your home. You'll know, too, that you are the owner of a piece of fantastic vintage, tribal art, that will never be made again in this exact way!

The Boujad rug comes from the Haouz region of Morocco, an area in the middle Atlas mountains. As with all rugs, the boujad rug represents the weaver, where her story is expressed in vibrant geometric patterns, and varying colors, often pinks, reds, and purples. These rugs are increasingly rare and difficult to find, as their popularity has soared in recent years.
