Vintage Moroccan Azilal Rug-Wasatch

This smallish runner is a beauty! She's the perfect size for an area that needs a bright, colorful and happy rug. The rug has a curve, which is an intentional design element, adding to the whimsy of the weaving. Don't be afraid of white and dirt here either, as this rug washes up in a jiffy. • Size: 2'6"x7'4"/31"x88"/78x223 cm
  • Material: Wool
  • Colors: White, Red, Pink, Blue, Brown
  • Age/Condition: Good condition. This is a vintage rug, made approximately 30-40 years ago. It has been professionally cleaned and repaired, but please expect one-of a kind imperfections that add to their wonderful history.

This rug is woven by traditional tribes from the Azilal region of Morocco, which is considered between the middle Atlas and the High Atlas mountains. These rugs were historically made for use within the home, giving the women the liberty to be creative and adaptive, and to use their weaving as an expression of self. Designs can often look like a piece of abstract art that you would find within museum walls, and each is 100% unique and the only one like this in the world.
