Vintage Moroccan Azilal Rug-Apennines

Friends! I LOVE THIS RUG! It's one of those pieces that is just so good for so many reasons: the colors, the design, the shape, and the neon. I marvel at the vision that the woman or women had who wove this work of art.

  • Size: 2'8"x8'7"/32"x103"/81x261 cm
  • Material: Wool
  • Colors: White, Blue, Red, Black, Green, Yellow
  • Age/Condition: Good condition. This is a vintage rug, made approximately 30-40 years ago. It has been professionally cleaned and repaired, but please expect one-of a kind imperfections that add to their wonderful history.

This rug is woven by traditional tribes from the Azilal region of Morocco, which is considered between the middle Atlas and the High Atlas mountains. These rugs were historically made for use within the home, giving the women the liberty to be creative and adaptive, and to use their weaving as an expression of self. Designs can often look like a piece of abstract art that you would find within museum walls, and each is 100% unique and the only one like this in the world.
