This rug is a gorgeous and rare vintage Moroccan Boujad, one of three in its collection that I found in a tiny shop in Marrakech. I was immediately taken with the design, as the "X" is at once uncommon and mesmerizing. The soft oranges, yellows and greens feel very neutral, while the design makes it feel bold. I love it! *Please look at the photos carefully of "Lapis" below. The non-styled photos are shot in natural light and reflect the true color of the rug very accurately.**

The Boujad rug comes from the Haouz region of Morocco, an area in the middle Atlas mountains. As with all rugs, the boujad rug represents the weaver, where her story is expressed in rich geometric patterns, and varying colors, often pinks, reds, and purples. These rugs are increasingly rare and difficult to find, as their popularity has soared in recent years.
