This rug is a gorgeous and rare vintage Moroccan Boujad, one of three in its collection that I found in a tiny shop in Marrakech. It was hidden in the bottom of a HUGE pile, and the owner claimed he didn't want to sell and so rarely showed it. I believe him because its' a stunner! You simply can no longer find Vintage Moroccan boujad rugs in this color and design. **Please look at the photos carefully of "Lauren" below. The professionally styled photo reflects the rug to be more orange than it is, but the stock photos were shot outside in natural light and reflect the true color perfectly.**

The Boujad rug comes from the Haouz region of Morocco, an area in the middle Atlas mountains. As with all rugs, the boujad rug represents the weaver, where her story is expressed in rich geometric patterns, and varying colors, often pinks, reds, and purples. These rugs are increasingly rare and difficult to find, as their popularity has soared in recent years.
